Biography

Activist and member of the Socialist Party, Serigne Mbaye Thiam is now the responsibility of the Ministry of Education of the republican regime. He inherited the position after holding that of Minister of Higher Education and Research in the first government of Abdoul Mbaye. Its responsibility is to promote the education of children and young people in age to attend schools (preschool, elementary, secondary general or overall average). The Minister must also promote adult literacy and the promotion of national languages. Born December 28, 1957 in Keur Madiabel (Nioro) Serigne Mbaye Thiam holds a Diploma of Accounting Expertise of the French state. The former campaign manager of candidate Ousmane Tanor Dieng in 2012 was several times member of the National Assembly of Senegal. From there, he held several committees including the Vice-President of the Commission of Economy and Finance. Serigne Mbaye Thiam is also spent at Port of Dakar as CFO from 1987 to 1993, he was subsequently the position of Chief Financial Officer from 1993 to 1995.
