Presentation

 The High Authority is a corporation under public law with an operational focus , attached to the Prime Minister and operating in a mode of private management.

The High Authority is the custodian of the state authority and the government delegate under the coordination of State action at sea.

The Ministry of the Armed Forces shall exercise the technical supervision of the High Authority. As such, it provides support for human and material resources in the operation of the High Authority and the implementation of its coordination mission.

The High Authority is providing operational support to the Ministry of the Armed Forces , in the context of national defense missions, within the limits of its competence and its means.
                                
Missions
                
 
 The High Authority is entrusted with a broad mission maritime safety coordination in sea and river waters under Senegalese jurisdiction. the High Authority for Coordination of the mission covers all maritime areas under the responsibility of Senegal by the sub-regional organizations, in the framework of bilateral or multilateral agreements or by the international community. The High Authority intervenes in the following areas:    The defense of sovereignty;    Safeguarding the interests of the nation;    The maintenance of public order;    The safety of people and property;    The security of ships, navigation and port facilities and offshore;   The prevention and fight against unlawful acts at sea, in particular, terrorism, piracy, armed robbery, illegal migration, the prohibited trade;    The protection of the marine environment and preservation of marine resources;    Support for operations of scientific and technical research at sea.
