Created June 7, 1997 at the end of its Constitutive General Assembly held in Dakar in the presence of fifty delegates , personalities and organization of civil society , the Senegalese Civic League (LCS) is an apolitical , non denominational and non-profit . It is an instrument for promoting culture of citizenship in Senegal. "Involving all members of the national community to the work of education for citizenship and democracy . "
Missions
The L.C.S aims:
• To contribute to the promotion of citizenship of the citizen and the advent of a new citizenship that draws inspiration and strength values ??shared by the nation and the common inspiration of the people to realize the Senegalese réve.
• To strive for respect and promotion of the rights and freedoms, consolidating civileet society the rule of law.
• To ensure wide dissemination of the principles of civic awareness and by all means of communication, while working for the development of media relations that favor a broad and constructive civic dialogue.
• To encourage research, studies, compilation of civic related documents.
• Provide expertise in the development and evaluation of plans, projects or programs affecting citizenship.
• Undertake appropriate actions education and civic training to build the capacity of individuals and communities to participate effectively in local and national life and to solve problems.
• To cooperate with all agencies and local, national and international institutions interested in promoting citizenship.
