CONGAD was created in 1982 by Non Governmental Organizations involved in Senegal for a coordinated management of relations with the state and other partners. Ambition materialization instrument of NGOs in Senegal, CONGAD thirty-two capacity building experience of civil society organizations, local authorities and media. It invests also in the coordination of development activities, lobbying and advocacy for the emergence of a strong civil society can influence public policy. CONGAD, which aims to promote political dialogue, economic, social and culture, organized for efficient participation of NGOs in the formulation, governance, social auditing and monitoring and evaluation of public policies. CONGAD's vision: "By the responsible citizenship, work towards a pan-African, democratic, solidarity, economic justice and support, rooted in our positive cultural values, open to the world and oriented towards sustainable human development ".

Missions

CONGAD mission «Promoting participatory development through capacity building of its members, political dialogue, social, economic, cultural and advocacy. " Enhancing the contribution and the positive influence of the movement development NGOs in Senegal and in the sub-West African region to meet the challenges of globalization and sustainable development. To this end, the board registered the exercise of its distinctive competencies and support missions in strategic areas below:

• The institutional capacity building, organizational and technical civil society organizations, local authorities and media.

• Strengthening common analytical and formulation of positions and proposals of the civil society organizations for efficient public action and supporting human rights and community priorities and development needs.

• Capitalization and dissemination of NGO experiences to make visible their actions and strengthen their capacity for action.

• Social audit of public policies

 

 • The promotion of political, economic, social and cultural dialogue to influence national policy, African and international.
