Mrs Mariama Sarr directs the Ministry of Women, Family and Children since July 4, 2014 is subject to the authority of the Prime Minister.

Missions

 For the Decree 2012-639 of 4 July 2012 the Ministry of Women, Children and Women's Entrepreneurship has the powers to prepare and implement the policy defined by the Head of State for family policy , protection and development of women and children and business creation and income-generating activities by women. He supported the policy of social development and contributes to improving the living conditions of families. He participated in liaison with all departments in the definition and implementation of poverty eradication policies. It ensures respect for fundamental rights of children. It ensures the successful integration of young children in the family and social life. He is responsible for policies with regard to abandoned children, street children and children being marginalized. It implements actions to provide a decent living for these children. It identifies and implements the measures required for the preservation of national family values. He leads the women's promotion policy and the fight against discrimination against women. It promotes capacity building of women entrepreneurs and women's economic groupings, including in financing and management of their business activities. In connection with the Minister of Economy and Finance, and it promotes the development of microfinance and encourages banking institutions and decentralized financial system (DFS) to work towards strengthening the existing mechanisms. As such, it is responsible for ensuring:

• Implementation and management of credit lines for women entrepreneurs, and the training of target populations;

• the establishment and management of a refinancing funds for the decentralized financial systems and of women's entrepreneurship..
