Presentation
The National Agency for Aquaculture (ANA ) is a structure placed under the Ministry of Fisheries and Maritime Economy ( MPEM ), established by Decree No. 2011-486 of 8 April 2011 repealing and replacing Decree 2006-766 of 31 July 2006. It is responsible for the implementation of the national development and promotion of aquaculture policy in Senegal.
Missions
The ANA has overall mission to contribute to the development of aquaculture by the close of industry professional’s guidance, and specific support necessary for sustainable development of aquaculture activities and the objectives of the National Development Program Aquaculture. It is responsible, in synergy with the appropriate structures:
Identify and highlight favorable sites for marine and freshwater aquaculture;
Educate and mentor holders of business projects in different segments of the aquaculture sector;
Strengthen aquaculture professional management capabilities, including technical, financial, commercial and organizational;
Support the development of aquaculture production farms;
Ensure, in partnership with specialized structures, the quality control of services required for aquaculture enterprises;
Search for domestic and foreign investors for the aquaculture industry
Promoting international cooperation in aquaculture
