Senegalese Agency for Industrial Property and Technology Innovation ( ASPIT )

Presentation

The Senegalese Agency for Industrial Property and Technological Innovation ( ASPIT ) was born of the merger by Decree No. 2009-1380 of 02/12/2009 bearing organization of the Ministry of Mines, Industry, the agribusiness and SMEs between the industrial Property Service and the Senegalese Agency for Technological Innovation created in 2001. The new agency has a public service mission for the Promotion of Invention and Technological Innovation . Its objective is to improve the competitiveness of productive sectors , mentor and support industry-oriented projects , agricultural and / or craft .
Priority is given to innovative projects with growth potential with high added value and likely job creation. The ASPIT is the National Liaison Structure with the African Organization for Intellectual Property (SNL / OAPI). As such, it must translate at national level the main tasks entrusted to it by the Bangui Agreement in particular , promotion and awareness on the use of the industrial property system for the economic and social development of its member states , guidance and assistance to users of the system . The ASPIT has a diverse skill team. At this internal pool adds external expertise in various industries both domestically. This potential of human resources is the board strength and support of the Agency.

 

 

Missions

 ASPIT's missions are:

 - Promote the invention and technological innovation in Senegal;

- Promote the protection of industrial inventions and creations;

- Encourage valuation creations and research results;

- Create synergy between innovation and technology transfer;

- Strengthening the competitiveness of small and medium enterprises and handicraft;

- Strengthen the capacity of SMEs and SMIs in their objectives (job creation and rapid growth);

- Strengthen our system of protection of Industrial Property and promotion;

- Serve as an interface between research institutions and industrial companies.

- Establish a partnership with International Institutions and the Private Sector;

- Encourage our people to create, invent new products and manufacturing processes and innovate to adopt our realities existing ones;

- Educate our economic operators on the use they could make of inventions, trademarks, industrial designs to enable them to contribute to the technological, economic and cultural development;

- Attracting foreign investors through a supportive and secure legal environment.
