The Municipality of Wakhinane Nimzatt is one of the five towns of districts of the town Guédiawaye. It is created by decree 96-745 of 30 August 1996 establishing common rounding cities of Dakar, Pikine, and Rufisque Guédiawaye. Wakhinane-Nimzatt is located along the great coast and is separated from the north by a strip of casuarina trees which is a curtain of protection against wind and dune encroachment. It covers an area of ??3.6 km². It is bounded to the west by the Municipality of Ndiarème-Limamoulaye, south-west by the Municipality of Medina Gounass and finally south east and east by the Yeumbeul Northern Commune. The District Municipality of Wakhinane Nimzatt is divided into 9 zones. Each zone is composed of 4 or 5 districts. The population of Wakhinane-Nimzatt was 63 036 inhabitants in the last census in 2002.
