Biography
A graduate of the University Cheikh Anta Diop (UCAD), of the Higher School of Transport in Paris and the Higher School of Maritime Transport and International Marseille, Yérim Thioub is an administrator of Maritime Affairs. He holds a Master of Sciences in Fleet Management, obtained in Malma International Maritime University in Sweden. The Director General of the National Agency of Maritime Affairs (ANAM) has held various positions in Senegal's maritime administration. First technical advisor to the Ministry of Fisheries from 1996 Yérim Thioub was entrusted with the management of the protection and surveillance of fisheries. In 2005, he was appointed Director of the Merchant Marine, which is later converted into National Agency of Maritime Affairs (ANAM). Yérim Thioub is reappointed to head the structure, newly established by Decree No 2009-583 of 18 June 2009. In the aftermath of the sinking of the Joola boat, its mission ANAM is to pilot the new security challenges maritime. A native of St. Louis (north), Thioub is also president of Senegal Action Movement (MAS). In November 2015, his association was particularly noted in the provision of ambulance gifts, millet mills and resources to the municipalities of Saint-Louis, and Ross-Béthio Gandiol among other surrounding villages.Tags: Agence Nationale des Affaires Maritimes
