Presentation
Under the authority of the Prime Minister , the Ministry of Health and Social Action led by Mrs. Eva Marie Coll Seck prepares and implements the policy defined by the Head of State in the field of health , the prevention , health and social action.
Missions
This is Decree number 2012-635 of 4 July 2012 which establishes the powers of the Ministry of Health and Social Action.
As such, he is responsible for making health care accessible to all Senegalese, whether they live in urban, peri-urban or rural. It encourages the training of doctors, midwives, nurses and other medical personnel, and promotes their fair implementation in the areas that are most lacking. It ensures the supply of drugs and to cover the health needs of the population. He supervises the public health bodies and oversees their staffing in general and specialized personnel as well as quality of technical platforms. It is responsible for preparing and enforcing the laws and regulations relating to medical, paramedical and pharmaceutical. It takes the necessary measures for the practice of preventive medicine in all health facilities and its inclusion in the curricula of school education. It ensures proper integration of environmental issues in the management of health systems. He actively fight against maternal and infant mortality, with the goal of aligning the Senegal on the best regional and world standards in this area. He organized the fight against communicable and noncommunicable diseases through specific programs, with particular emphasis on malaria, AIDS, diabetes and tuberculosis. It facilitates the implementation of expanded programs of immunization effectively covering all cibles.il pays particular attention to protecting the health of women, children, workers and elderly or disabled people. In connection with the Ministry of Sports, it encourages the practice of sport as a means of prevention against diseases. Under social action, it provides assistance to the chronically ill and vulnerable groups. To this end, it contributes to the implementation efforts for universal medical coverage.
