The Presidency of the Republic is the institution of the President. It consists of the office of Head of State and the General Secretariat. The Cabinet headed by a Director of Cabinet includes: one or more Ministers of State counselors ministers Goodwill Ambassadors Special Advisers advisers of assignment There's also different poles : diplomatic pole Pole of protocol business Pole Major Projects Security pole Coordination center of sovereign functions
Missions
The President of the Republic is elected by direct universal suffrage and majority vote in two rounds. The term of office of the President of the Republic is seven years. The mandate is renewable only fois.Son Excellency Macky Sall is the President of the Republic of Senegal. He was elected on 25 March 2012. The President is the guardian of the constitution. He was the first patron of the arts and letters of Senegal. He embodies national unity. The President of the Republic is the guarantor of the proper functioning of institutions, national independence and territorial integrity. It determines the policy of the Nation and chairs the Council of Ministers. The President of the Republic shall sign the ordinances and decrees. He appoints civil. The President of the Republic, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, is responsible for national defense. He chairs the Higher Council of National Defence and the National Security Council. He appoints all military posts and alert of armed force. The President of the Republic shall accredit ambassadors and envoys extraordinary to foreign powers. Ambassadors and envoys extraordinary to foreign powers are accredited to him. The President of the Republic has the right to pardon and can address messages to the Nation. The President of the Republic is elected by direct universal suffrage and majority vote in two rounds. The President of the Republic may be assisted by a Vice-President he appointed after consultation with the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the National Assembly for a period not exceed his mandate. He terminates his functions in the same manner. The term of office of the President of the Republic is seven years. The mandate is renewable only once. The President of the Republic appoints the Prime Minister and terminates his duties. Upon the Prime Minister, the President of the Republic appoints the Ministers define their duties and terminate their functions. The President of the Republic is installed in office after taking the oath before the Constitutional Council in a public meeting. The newly elected President of the Republic made a written declaration of assets submitted to the Constitutional Council which makes it public.
