Presentation

Until 1987, the IT policy of the State of Senegal was supported by the computer section of the Organization and Methods Office (BOM), including coordination with the IT National Committee (INC). In 2001 Senegal has engaged in a new dynamic of development of computer technology and promote networks of information and communication based on the adoption of: • The adoption of a new telecommunications code • The liberalization of the telecommunications sector • The creation and strengthening of institutions to define and implement the TICS sector. The new e-vision Senegal declined in January 2002 is based on lala belief that ICTs are an essential lever for the economic development of a country. It is for these reasons that the Agency of Informatics of the State was created in 2004: • To give more impetus, • Make the sector closer to the notion of the concept of performance and results.

 

 

Missions

 The tasks entrusted to the agency are:

• The modernization of the Senegalese Government by the dematerialization of administrative procedures;

• Streamlining IT spending of the state by pooling and harmonizing technology choices Services Administration;

• Building a national network infrastructure for interconnection of state structures;

• The availability of a reliable information system for effective monitoring of government action;

• Coordinating the development of a legislative and regulatory framework conducive to the development of information and communications technology.

• Reducing the digital divide and social exclusion by widespread access to ICTs

• It also participates in the definition of e-government strategy, commonly referred to as "e-government", the State of Senegal to:

• To equip the state of a system of information and tools to aid decision making;

• To provide citizens and businesses a decentralized interface access to the administration;

• To sustain and secure the state archives by giving it an electronic memory

• Define the information systems of performance indicators in place, and ensure monitoring and evaluation

• Evaluate the impact of investments in the field of IT;

• To contribute to good governance including the promotion of the TV.
